Organizing and designing an LGBTQ+ wedding at Locanda Rosa Rosae was a unique and unforgettable experience. Nestled in the enchanting Venetian countryside, this rustic-chic venue became the perfect setting for a gypsy-themed wedding, where authenticity and creativity intertwined to create an event filled with emotional details and a bohemian atmosphere.
The two brides, from the UK, chose to celebrate their love in an authentic and unconventional way. They wore colorful floral-patterned dresses, paired with unique accessories, such as a flower-adorned hat and a circular bouquet, symbolizing unity and infinity. The symbolic ceremony took place under an iron gazebo, adorned with colorful ribbons, a vintage trunk and suitcases, an old flower-decorated chandelier, candelabras, and tin jars, creating a dreamy and intimate setting. The aisle, lined with Persian rugs, led the brides to their heartfelt herb exchange ritual, a deeply symbolic moment.
The aperitif took place in the garden, with gazebos decorated with clouds of balloons, hay seating covered with fabrics and rugs, creating a cozy and visually stunning area. A unique tableau de mariage delighted guests: linen sachets with ribbons and colorful tassels, containing the same herbs used in the ceremony, doubling as personalized wedding favors. Each table had an evocative name, such as “Gypsy Stop” and “Bohemian Passage”, immersing guests in the gypsy theme.
For dinner, guests sat at bare wooden tables of various shapes and sizes, decorated with old candelabras, fresh flowers, fruit, and handwritten place cards on artisanal paper. The table setting was curated in every detail, with pewter plates and crystal glasses, emphasizing the venue’s rustic elegance.
The evening was brought to life by a wide range of entertainment, including a stilt performer, a fire-eating juggler, a fortune teller, and game tables featuring roulette and blackjack, offering guests an engaging and unconventional experience. The highlight of the night was the brides’ favorite English band, performing live on a stage set up in the garden, getting everyone dancing until late into the night.
The cake cutting took place under the ceremony gazebo, illuminated by fairy lights, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere to conclude an unforgettable day.
