A romantic inspiration for a creative and elegant wedding in the heart of Venice
As spring blossomed, we planned and designed a romantic and creative wedding in Venice that took place at the marvelous Hotel Aquarius, Campo San Giacomo dell’Orio. Our inspiration wedding project aimed to promote the art and culture of the city, whose value is often undermined by mass tourism, and was a hymn to the creativity of La Biennale, the elegance of the Film Festival, the craftsmanship of the lagoon’s artisans and the dynamism of water.
We envisioned two native newlyweds to represent an authentic and refined Venice. An adventurous couple, ready to discover all those secret corners that make the city so magical. The groom, a red carpet-classy man, with his timeless tuxedo; the bride, an ethereal and delicate woman, just like the roses that decorated her dress.
The choice of our location was spot on: the Aquarius Hotel was built, indeed, inside the historic Pemma-Zambelli palace, of which the exposed bricks and stone coverings have been kept. The symbolic ceremony took place in the large internal courtyard and the floral arrangement was designed as if it was an artistic installation, with painted canvases from which gypsophila clouds in shades of pink emerged.
The same flower was used as a leitmotiv of the wedding stationery, created with precious materials and a few golden touches in the sealing wax. Golden details also enriched our mise en place, set up inside a wonderful frescoed room and decorated with candles and jars of the same shade. Shades of pink painted the glasses, the velvet tablecloth and the centerpiece, which was designed in two versions, the first with a gypsophila cloud, the second with roses and other fresh flowers arranged along the imperial table.
The wedding cake, a true layered work of art decorated once again with pink gypsophila, was cut on the hotel terrace, among designer furnishings and a breathtaking view over the characteristic roofs of the most romantic city in the world.
Lastly, the couple got on a characteristic gondola, ready for a new future together, after having celebrated the wedding of their dreams in Venice.
